Finished: Bull Mountain, by Brian Panowich 📚. Multi-generational novel revolving around a family of outlaws in Georgia who move from moonshine to pot to meth over the decades. I did not see the ending twist coming at all, though in retrospect it was well-telegraphed. Enjoyable.

Exclusive: Early US intel assessment suggests strikes on Iran did not destroy nuclear sites, sources say

The Trump administration has already branded this as fake news, which is how you know it’s true.

Finished: Mercies in Disguise, by Gina Kolata 📚. The story of a family with an inherited prion disease, intercut with the history of prion research. Focuses quite a bit on using pre-implantation genetic diagnosis to ensure a next generation of healthy children.

Trump to rescind ‘Roadless Rule’ which protects 58 million acres of forest land

I try not to hate people, but I’m certainly not fond of those who view forests as just places to cut down.

Tesla Robotaxi Day 1: Significant Screw-up

Oops.

To be fair, I don’t think this tells us much about the future of autonomous vehicles, because pretty much everyone with a brain agrees that Tesla is doing it wrong.

Not that I’ll ever ride in one myself.

#mbjune Day 23: fracture 📷

Almost halfway through the year, I have taken 8,283 photos. 474 (5.7%) of them were good enough (in my not very humble opinion) to work up as wallpaper. I guess if practice makes perfect I should at least be making progress.
