We are destroying software

I’m glad someone is still keeping up this fight., even if I’m long out of energy for it.

Elon Musk’s Legacy Is Disease, Starvation and Death

300,000 deaths. Mostly children. This is what “Make America Great Again” means.

RFK Jr.‘s ‘Make America Healthy Again’ report seems riddled with AI slop

Bad politics meets bad tech. Just need to throw in some cryptocurrency for the scam trifecta.

Trump goes after Leonard Leo in attack on tariff ruling

Alternate headline: Thin-Skinned Man-Baby Whines That Nothing is Ever His Fault

(I presume Leo doesn’t care. He’s gotten his generation-long lock on the Supreme Court.)

The Trump Administration Wants to Create an ‘Office of Remigration’

I’ve wandered into the timeline where 2025 USA is 1938 Nazi Germany, and I don’t like it.

White House blasts rulings on tariffs: ‘The courts should have no role here’

  1. Carefully eliding that one of those horrible unelected activist judges in this case is a Trump appointee

  2. Arguably under Article 1, Section 8 the power to levy tariffs belongs to Congress, not the President, in the first place.

Trump Freaks Out When He Learns About Humiliating New Nickname

Remember when Xi Jinping got his knickers in a twist over Winnie-the-Pooh memes?

I look forward to seeing many more taco emojis in social media posts. 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮

SpaceX launches another Starship rocket after back-to-back explosions, but it tumbles out of control

The point of “move fast, break things” is supposed to be that eventually you figure out how to stop breaking things.

Some signs of AI model collapse begin to reveal themselves

Or to put it more bluntly, Garbage In, Garbage Out. Not that I expect garbage out will do anything to stop the massive overdeployment of current AI technologies, or their contribution to the enshittification of everything.

What is the ‘TACO trade’ on Wall Street?

It’s Trump Always Chickens Out, of course. I’ll bet every time he sees that smoke comes out of the man-baby’s ears. Good.

RFK Jr. ends COVID shot recommendation for healthy children, pregnant women

Killing children is going to be RFK Jr’s signature achievement. Having one fuckwit override scientific consensus is just horrifying.

Finished: The New Year, by Pearl S. Buck 📚. A change of pace from her sweeping historical novels, this one is more of a modern romance. It tracks an ambitious politician, his smart (and beautiful) wife, and his previously-hidden son who was born in Korea as the result of a wartime hookup. There’s an overwhelming sense of good people being good, which is much more heroic than you get in most current novels.
