I can recall a time when people deliberately poisoned search results (anyone else remember nigritude ultramarine?). And then there were browser extensions to make background requests to pollute one’s own internet history in the interest of making surveillance more difficult. I wonder whether the AI backlash will progress to people trying to deliberately get falsehoods and nonsense into AI training data. Or perhaps it’s already happening?
