12 Days of Winter Wonder Photo Challenge - Day 8: Grinch 📷

We went with a Grinch tree this year at our house. Don’t ask me why; all decor decisions belong to my wife.

“The Clump”

Just some tiny mushrooms along the Ridgeline Trail.

12 Days of Winter Wonder Photo Challenge - Day 7: Solstice 📷

This is the sighting pedestal atop Mount Pisgah. It has slots to line up with solstice sunrise. Sadly it is socked in cloudy and raining this year, so here’s a picture from a sunny day a couple months ago.

Still photography of “Sparkle” is kind of hard, but perhaps this time-lapse ornament touches on the idea.

12 Days of Winter Wonder Photo Challenge - Day 5: Beard 📷

I didn’t have to travel any further than my desk for this macro shot.

“The View”

Looking out from the top of Mount Pisgah on a sunny winter’s day.

“Sentinel”

There have been birds in this particular tree on my hikes so many times that I’ve started mounting a zoom lens when I’m getting close to it.

12 Days of Winter Wonder Photo Challenge - Day 4: Evergreen 📷

We have no shortage of evergreens in Oregon. These are from a hike to the top of Patterson Mountain in January this year.

“To the Top”

Trail leading up Mount Pisgah. It looks like a nice spring day, but in fact it’s still mid-December.
