Cedar Creek Fire. 2022. 127,311 acres. Sometimes fire exposes history as well as destroying it. This ceramic insulator, in the blasted area along the Rigdon Lakes Trail, likely once carried a phone wire to a remote fire lookout.

Salt Creek Falls. I do plenty of night-hiking. The cliffs in this long exposure were illuminated by my headlamp.

Majestic Falls at McDowell Creek County Park. It was late in the season so the water level was super-low, breaking the wide cascade into two smaller falls.

I’ve used Linux off and on for at least a couple of decades. Today I had to go mucking around at the grub command line for the first time, to rescue a system that wouldn’t boot. Hopefully that will be the last time, too.
