Finished: Mawson’s Will, by Lennard Bickel 📚. The story of Douglas Mawson’s desperate slog across the Antarctic (featuring, among other things, the excess-Vitamin-A-induced sloughing off of the soles of his feet) remains one of the great tales of human endurance. If you’re not familiar with it, you ought to be, and this is a great retelling of the story.

Watched the Eurovision Grand Final with my daughter - something we’ve done together for years, though this year it had to be via online chat instead of gathered around the same screen. We still had much fun snarking about the various acts. As usual, our picks didn’t win, though at least we liked #3 and #4 this year.
